Honoring those who have served our country(?) - Frank William Penrose

It always amazes me how much I do NOT know about my ancestors until I try to sit down and write about them.

I know that my great-grandfather, Frank William Penrose, registered for the military on, interestingly enough, September 11, 1918. Below is a copy of his registration card.

Other than that I have no idea if Frank actually served in the military. I have never seen any photos of him in uniform or anything like that, and I don't remember my grandmother ever mentioning that he served in WWI. He was 42 years old at the time of his registration, so I doubt he served for that reason alone.

Does anyone know? Does anyone have any photos or documentation that he served?

So, this one is actually more about the fact that he registered on 9/11. And, I will honor him, regardless. : )
